Step-by-step instructions
Access the Spend Bitcoin Mini App
Open your Fedi app and navigate to the Bitsacco community. Under "Community Mini Apps," tap on Spend Bitcoin. This is the Tando mini app
Choose Your Payment Method
TANDO offers multiple payment options on its home screen:
- Scan QR Code - Pay Mpesa point of sale via QR codes
- Send Money - Send M-Pesa to phone numbers
- Pay Bills - Pay utility bills and services
- Buy Goods - Pay for merchant purchases
For this guide, we'll focus on Send Money experience as an example
Enter Payment Details
On the "Send Money" screen:
- Phone Number: Enter the recipient's phone number (format: 254 712 .........)
- You can use the "PASTE" button if you've copied the number
- Total Amount: Enter the amount in KSH you want to send (range: 15 to 50,000)
- Tap the green "Next >>" button to continue
Review the Lightning Invoice
The system will generate a Lightning invoice showing:
- A QR code (can be copied by tapping "TAP TO COPY")
- The amount you will spend in BTC (example: 0.00 000 132)
- The recipient's phone number
Tap the green "Pay Invoice" button to proceed.
Confirm the Payment Request
A payment confirmation popup will appear showing:
- "Payment request from Tando"
- Your Bitsacco wallet details and current balance
- The amount to be deducted in USD and SATS (example: 0.12 USD / 132 SATS)
- Option to view "Details & Fee"
Review the details, then:
- Tap "Accept" to confirm the payment
Tap "Reject" to cancel
Track Payment Progress and Confirmation
Once you accept, TANDO will process your payment through several stages:
When the payment is successful, you'll receive a confirmation screen as shown below:
Tap the green "Done" button to return to the main screen.
Verify Your Updated Balance
Navigate to the Wallets tab in Fedi to confirm:
- Your Bitcoin balance has decreased by the spent amount
- The transaction appears in your Bitsacco wallet history
